Gorilla tracking is one of the exciting activities that are done in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and is the highlight since most visitors who come to the park have it on their bucket list as the key activity. In a bid to make the activity enjoyable for all visitors, various techniques have been put in place to enable the weaker people to also engage in the activity. It is in the same manner that sedan seats and traditional bamboo stretchers were introduced in the National Park to offer opportunities to weaker people who cannot trek to also have an opportunity to observe gorillas in their natural habitat.
Sedan seats.
These seats are comfortable and provide trekking opportunities visitors who are Lame, pregnant or in any other form incapacitated are not able to hike or even trick through the dense tropical rainforests in Bwindi. They can observe the gentle giants in their natural habitat. The seat resembles the comfortable seats in the cars and it has a seat belt with it to help prevent the visitor from falling off the seat in transit. The seat has four handles attached to it that help in the carriage.
The seat is carried by 8 porters who help the visitor maneuver through the dense rainforests and get a chance to observe the gorillas. Each of the porters holds a handle of the four and they walk while carrying the visitor who is comfortably seated in the sedan seat.
Sedan Seats are often booked in advance and this is advisable for every visitor hoping to use it to get it at least three to four weeks before the trip. This is because they often sell out and are unavailable if sought abruptly. The seats can be booked through the registered travel agents who inform the authorities at the park of the availability and the porters prepare in advance too.

Bamboo stretchers do not have seat belts attached to them so they are slightly not as comfortable as the sedan seats.
