5 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking and Nyungwe Forest Safari

Arrival in Kigali and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport or after your break from your place of residence in Kigali, you will be warmly welcomed by our professional driver-guide who will brief you about the safari before beginning the scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park in northern Rwanda.

The journey offers spectacular views of Rwanda's rolling hills, countryside villages and lush green landscapes.

Upon arrival at your hotel, check in and spend the rest of the day relaxing while enjoying the peaceful Volcanoes surroundings.

Gorilla Trekking Experience

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for registration and briefing by the park rangers regarding gorilla trekking rules and safety guidelines.

After the briefing, you will be allocated a gorilla family and transferred to the trekking starting point. Accompanied by experienced ranger guides, begin your trek through the rainforest in search of the endangered mountain gorillas.

The trekking experience can take anywhere between 1 to 7 hours or more depending on the movement and location of the gorilla family.

Once the gorillas are located, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat while taking photographs and learning about their behaviours and social interactions.

After the trek, return to the lodge for relaxation and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Volcanoes National Park.

Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

After breakfast, check out and begin the scenic drive to Nyungwe National Park located in southwestern Rwanda.

Enjoy breathtaking landscapes along the way including tea plantations, rolling hills, local villages and panoramic countryside views.

Arrive at Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel in the afternoon and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere overlooking the surrounding tea environment and beautiful Nyungwe Forest landscapes.

Spend the entire evening relaxing at the lodge and preparing for the following day's exciting chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk.

Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for briefing before beginning your chimpanzee trekking experience in Nyungwe Forest.

Nyungwe National Park is home to several primate species including chimpanzees, colobus monkeys and many bird species.

Guided by experienced park rangers, enjoy an exciting trek through the rainforest in search of chimpanzees while discovering the incredible biodiversity of this ancient forest.

After the trek, return for lunch and later enjoy the famous Nyungwe Canopy Walk, a spectacular suspended bridge offering breathtaking aerial views of the rainforest and surrounding landscapes.

After the canopy experience, return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight stay.

Transfer to Kigali and Departure

After breakfast, check out from the lodge and begin your return journey to Kigali.

Enjoy another scenic drive through Rwanda's beautiful countryside with optional stopovers for photography, local markets or cultural experiences depending on your departure schedule.
