4 Days Bwindi Gorillas and Lake Bunyonyi

The 4 Days, 3 nights Bwindi Gorillas and Lake Bunyonyi tour is a special primate and relaxation expedition uniquely crafted to showcase you Uganda’s iconic attraction right in their natural habitat.

DAY BY DAY ITINERARY

Day 1: Pick up from your hotel, drive to Bwindi National Park
In the morning after a hefty breakfast, meet your Uganda safari guide for a short briefing about this memorable 4-day trip to explore the wonders of Bwindi and Lake Bunyonyi. Leave Kampala for Bwindi National Park, expecting to spend about 8-9 hours via the most rewarding route (Southwestern Uganda). Drive through Masaka city and at Kayabwe, make a stopover at the Equator for photography, and purchasing some souvenirs.

Continue from Kayabwe to Igongo cultural hotel for a tasty lunch meal and finalize your trip to Bwindi, driving southwestwards while enjoying the scenic terraced Kigezi highlands and vast banana farms. Get to Bwindi N/Park early to check in at your accommodation just to relax, refresh, dine and retire for the night.

Day 2: Day long gorilla trekking experience & Batwa community visit
Transfer to a briefing point in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where you will find the park officials. Get details on the dos and don’ts to be followed while in the jungles searching for gorillas. The actual gorilla trekking excursion begins at 8:00am and by this time; allocation of the park guides and gorilla families would be done.

Set foot into the dense Bwindi Forest with an expert leading you through and once you come across the family of mountain gorillas, your park guide will let you stay with them for maximum of one hour.

Walk back at a favorable pace while keeping eyes on other floral and faunal species in the park. Get to the park offices to be rewarded with gorilla trekking certificate from Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), then connect straight to the lodge for relaxation. In the afternoon, leave the lodge for the Batwa community walk and this involves exploring about the Batwa pygmies, their cultures and traditions as well as get entertained by the unique traditional dances.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi – relax and rewind.
A hefty breakfast in the morning and you will check out of the lodge. Start your road trip from Bwindi to Lake Bunyonyi in a comfortable 4×4 tourist vehicle while viewing the scenic rolling hills of the countryside. Arrive early at Lake Bunyonyi, relax and next will be engaging in a canoe/boat ride with a local guide as you head off to the spectacular island.

The rest of the evening will be spent just chilling while viewing the natural beauty of the lake and later, dine and retire for the night.

Day 4: Departure. End of tour.
At leisure, enjoy a delicious breakfast and check out from your lodge or resort around Lake Bunyonyi. Board your tourist vehicle and you will be driven via the Mbarara-Masaka route to Kampala or Entebbe and enroute, make a stopover at Igongo country hotel for lunch and proceed to Equator for last exciting moments as per the trip plan. Next will be drop off straight to the hotel in Kampala or Entebbe city, for departure flight or night stay.
