3 Days Gorilla Habituation Experience

Have an amazing experience as you encounter the beautiful human’s closest relatives, the mountain gorillas. This will be through gorilla habituation experience, which rewards you up to 4 hours in the presence of semi-habituated gorillas.

This tour goes to Rushaga sector, one of the 4 sectors in Bwindi National Park located in southwestern Uganda. This park is home to almost half of the endangered mountain gorilla population. This tour involves trekking and moving long distances which needs one to be physically fit and energetic.

DAY TO DAY HIGHLIGHT

Day 1. Transfer to Bwindi National Park from Kampala/Entebbe

Depending on your pickup point, meet and greet our company representative and then take you to Bwindi National Park, home to Mountain gorillas with almost half of the world’s population of mountain gorillas.

Bwindi national park has four sectors (Nkuringo, Rushaga, Buhoma and Ruhija) and Rushaga is the only sector where gorilla habituation experience takes place. Arrive and head to the lodge and this marks the end of day one.

Day 2. Gorilla habituation adventure

Wake up early and head to the park offices in Rushaga Sector where this amazing experience takes place. Have guidelines to follow during the adventure such as keeping a distance of about 8m, use of a flashlight camera is not allowed, feeding gorillas is not allowed, trekking if you have flue and any other infectious disease.

Mountain gorillas live in groups called families and you will spend 4 hours with them learning about their behaviours and characters. The overall experience can take about 8 to 10 hours since no one can predict the location of a gorilla family visited. The four hours, take photos and create everlasting memories. In the evening, head to the lodge and this marks the end of the day.

Day 3. Head back to Kampala / Entebbe

Leave the lodge in the morning after breakfast and have an enroute lunch in Kayabwe at the point where the equator crosses Uganda. At this point, take memorable photos on the equator monument, enjoy the experiment that shows both north and south poles and then buy some souvenirs. Proceed and be dropped in either Kampala or Entebbe depending on your next tour plan.
