Pick Up in Kigali and Transfer to Bwindi

Your 3 Days Uganda Gorilla Trek from Kigali begins with a morning pick-up from Kigali International Airport or your hotel in Kigali.

After meeting your professional driver-guide, you will receive a short briefing before starting the journey to Uganda. Then, drive through Rwanda's beautiful countryside, with rolling hills, green valleys and scenic views along the way.

After crossing the Rwanda-Uganda border, continue towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey gives you time to enjoy the changing landscapes and rural communities.

Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and relax. Meanwhile, you can prepare for the following day's gorilla trekking adventure.

Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi Forest

Today is the main highlight of your Uganda gorilla trekking safari. After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for registration and a ranger briefing.

Experienced Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers will explain the trekking rules and safety guidelines. After that, you will enter the dense Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and begin your search for a habituated mountain gorilla family.

Gorilla trekking can take approximately 1 to 8 hours. The time depends on the location and movement of the gorilla family. Some sections can be steep, so a reasonable level of fitness is recommended.

Along the way, look for colorful birds, butterflies, trees and other forest wildlife. Your ranger guide will also explain the forest environment and gorilla conservation.

Once you find the gorilla family, you will have time to observe them in their natural habitat. You may see social interaction, feeding, grooming and other daily activities while following the official gorilla viewing guidelines.

After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and rest. If time and energy allow, you may also visit a local community or enjoy the area around your lodge.

Transfer from Bwindi Back to Kigali

After breakfast, check out of your lodge and begin the return journey to Kigali.

Enjoy another scenic drive through the countryside as you travel towards the Rwanda-Uganda border. After completing the border crossing, continue to Kigali.

Depending on your flight schedule, you can be dropped off at Kigali International Airport or your hotel in Kigali.
